Fitzgerald named executive editor of 3 newspapers

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – The chief editor of the Beaver County Times in western Pennsylvania is moving east to take a new job overseeing three newspapers in the Philadelphia area.

Shane Fitzgerald will become the executive editor of the Bucks County Courier Times in Levittown, The Intelligencer in Doylestown and the Burlington County Times in New Jersey. He is scheduled to start in his new position on June 15. All three papers are owned by Calkins Media Inc.

Fitzgerald will succeed Patricia S. Meagher-Walker, who retires next month after nearly 30 years with the company.
