One vote puts Butler Twp. levy up for recount

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – The official count from the Columbiana Board of Elections affirms the passage of the Butler Township 1.5 mil road levy by just one vote.

According to the Morning Journal, the levy was ahead 177 to 176 after the May 5 primary, but that did not include late-arriving absentee and provisional ballots.

Board of Elections Director Adam Booth said the margin is small enough to trigger an automatic recount.

The recount is scheduled for May 28.
