Warren PD looking into attempted arson

police looking for warren, ohio arson suspects

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Investigators are working to identify three apparent juveniles accused of vandalism and attempted arson to property behind a Warren business.

Company surveillance caught the acts on camera. The video shows the suspects smashing out the tail lights on a trailer behind Main Lite Electric Company, rolling away a wire spool, and a cloud of smoke as they tried setting a large wooden storage box on fire.

This all happened Wednesday after 8 p.m. Employees believe the three got onto the property from a bike trail that runs behind the building.

Officials are asking kids to understand there are consequences to their actions.

“We would ask that they stay away from setting fires and vandalizing because like I said, most places have security cameras and you will be caught,” Warren Fire Chief Ken Nussle said.

Main Lite Electric employees said this isn’t the first time it has happened. They said on Monday, the door on the same trailer was destroyed, but only after the suspects used a basketball to move the security camera.

Both incidents are under investigation.
