YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A former Warren Harding teacher appeared in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Tuesday to answer a charge of sexual battery.

Amanda Basile pleaded not guilty to the charge Tuesday. Police then took her into custody, and a judge set her bond at $10,000 and her trial date for June 29.

Police have accused Basile of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a Warren school student at a home in Austintown.

A Mahoning County grand jury indicted Basile on May 14. Basile resigned from Warren Harding after the allegations surfaced.
