YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A 13-year-old girl is accusing a Daybreak program center employee of choking and stabbing during her stay at the facility, Monday.
According a police report, the alleged victim told police the staff member threatened to choke her out during an argument they had. The teen also claimed the staff member came up from behind and put her in a choke-hold a few minutes after the worker claimed she would.
A short time later, another dispute erupted. The teen said the staff member stabbed her in the back of the leg with a cooking fork after she walked away from the argument.
Staff members broke up the fight and the worker left the home before police arrived.
According to witnesses and a Daybreak supervisor, the employee was the “main aggressor” and was “out of line” when she confronted the alleged victim.
Youngstown Police Department Family Services is investigating the incident. If criminal charges are filed, the staff member could face a felonious assault charge.
Daybreak Supervisors and employees were available for comment.
