YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown City Schools’ Academic Distress Committee took part in Friday’s visit by the state school board.
Board members had the chance to ask questions of the Academic Distress Committee and district administrators during an open Q and A session.
The ADC is currently in the process of selecting an interim superintendent after the departure of Dr. Connie Hathorne earlier this year.
A meeting is planned for tonight to look at resumes of applicants.
“We have nine candidates for the interim position. A committee of seven will meet this evening to look over those resumes and make a decision about three or four whom we can then direct to the board for interviews,” Academic Distress Committee Chair Joffrey Jones said.
Another meeting is planned for June 8, where the ADC hopes to interview candidates. Then present two or three names to the board for selection.\
