NILES, Ohio (WKBN) — A big celebration for a major milestone Sunday in Niles.

The people you see walking down the red carpet are true champions.

They are cancer survivors, and Sunday was a day to rejoice!

Over a hundred cancer survivors were honored today at McMenamy’s Banquet Center, a party held every year by the Mercy Health Partners.

The lunch lets the survivors meet new people and share their stories.

“They go thru so much, chemotherapy, radiation, they’re on different types of medication to get them thru this journey and it is truly a cancer journey. We’re here to love and support them and reach out to them and let them know they matter,” said Angela Ritz, of Mercy Health.

Each cancer survivor got to invite one guest to the celebration.
