New church in Struthers heads out in the valley to help others

new church gives help

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) — Parishioners from a new church in Struthers were supposed to be outside Sunday planting at the Inner City Garden in Youngstown.

But the weather had other ideas!

So instead, they headed inside to Columbiana to help out at the Way Station.

The group volunteered their time cleaning the shelves and sweeping the floors.

The members are from Cross Culture Church in Struthers.

And if a month has five Sundays, they choose one to close down the church and head out in the community to help in any way they can.

“We didn’t do anything to deserve the stuff that we have. Everything we have has been given to us by God, and from there we can’t do anything on our own and there’s a lot of people out there who need help and it’s our job to give back to the community,” said John McBride of the Cross Culture Church.

The Way Station is a faith-based, private non-profit that is dedicated to helping families and individuals of Columbiana County.
