Cruze sales slipping for General Motors

LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Chevy Cruze hit a big pothole in May.

Sales numbers were down 27 percent. General Motors sold 23,752 Lordstown-built Cruzes last month, but that was down from the 32,393 sold in May 2014.

However, it was a tough comparison since May 2014 was the Cruze’s second-best sales month ever. Cruze sales are down 12 percent from the same time period last year.

Overall, GM had its best May sales since 2007 and its best month since August 2008, selling 293,097 vehicles.
