PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – The Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh released David Denovcheck of Niles from the hospital Tuesday after he gave part of his liver to a Trumbull County girl.
Denovchek is finishing his recovery at his home in Niles after the May 27 liver transplant, which doctors said save the life of 4-year old Jamie.
Denovchek is expecting to be off work for 12 weeks while being monitored by doctors at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Jamie, who has been in foster care her whole life, remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Denovchek has exceeded his fundraising goal of $10,000, according to his personal page on Gofundme.com.
