Police continue to search for driver in Middlefield buggy accident

Police in Middlefield, Ohio continue to search for a vehicle involved in an Amish buggy accident.

MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Police continue to search for the driver of an SUV that hit an Amish buggy near Middlefield, injuring four people.

Police say the driver of what may be a Jeep Cherokee hit the buggy on Tavern Road and then fled the scene.

A man, a woman and two children in the buggy were taken to a hospital after the May 28 accident.

Relatives said their injuries were not life threatening.

The horse that was pulling the buggy also was injured and is expected to survive.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office.
