Wal-Mart raising wages beginning in July

BENTONVILLE, Arkansas (WKBN) – Wal-Mart is raising starting wages for more than 100,000 department managers and workers.

Wal-Mart says that department managers of areas such as produce, electronics and auto care will make from $13 to $24 dollars an hour beginning in July.

Other department managers will get $10 to $20 an hour.

Wal-Mart has been increasing the wages of its employees in response to criticism from some labor groups.

By February of next year, Wal-Mart will up the minimum wage for entry-level and long-term hourly employees to at least $10 an hour.
