Teenage boy shot in Liberty: Investigation is underway


LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) — A shooting in Trumbull County sends a teen to the hospital.

Police in Liberty were called to 305 East Montrose Street around 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

That’s just north of the Liberty Plaza Shopping Center.

Police aren’t releasing many details, except to say it involves two juvenile males.

At least one witness at the scene says the victim is a 13-year old boy who was shot in the foot when a handgun fell out of a paper bag.

“There was an incident involving several male juveniles and a handgun and during the course of that incident one of the young male juveniles sustained a minor gunshot wound,” said Officer Robert Altiere, Liberty Police.

Police say they victim was taken to St. E’s in a private car.

No word yet on his name or condition.
