WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Emergency workers took a Warren man to the hospital following a shooting Monday evening on Warren’s northeast side.

Police said that someone shot Kashaun Williams, 21, near the corner of Atlantic Street and Forest Street around 9 p.m. Police said Williams is alive and in the hospital and planned to interview him Tuesday.

Police at the scene on Monday night were using flashlights and looked to be searching for evidence.

Police say friends drove the 21-year-old man to the hospital, after the gunshots in the 400 block of Forest Street near Atlantic around 8:45 p.m.

The first reports said someone in a black SUV drove by and opened fire, as the victim and his brother were walking along Forest Street.
