WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A judge set bond for a Warren woman at $50,000 Tuesday, a day after police charged her with murdering her boyfriend of seven years.
Teajuanna McKinnon, 37, made her scheduled video arraignment appearance Tuesday and pleaded not guilty. Monday morning, McKinnon turned herself into Warren police for the shooting that took place early Sunday.
McKinnon is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing June 18.
Investigators said McKinnon shot her long-time boyfriend, Rayen Patterson, 44, during an argument. Police said the incident happened around 3 a.m. Sunday on Oak Circle S.W.
Patterson’s mother, Theresa, said she knew the couple had their differences, but didn’t know the extent of it.
“My heart goes out for her and her family, but neither one of them should be where they are today. Neither one,” Patterson said.
If convicted, McKinnon faces 15-years-to life in prison and up to a $15,000 fine.
