YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown will have plenty of festivals this summer for people to enjoy, and an updated mobile app will help people see it all.

The makers of the app My City Hangouts have partnered with the City of Youngstown. The app will include dozens of events happening around town this summer.

On Tuesday, city officials announced the Summer Event Series. It includes festivals and other get-togethers that will bring people downtown.

“So what we did is we looked at all the events that were occurring in the city. And we felt that it is important to bring them all together, brand them together, and then beef it up. And realistically blow it out of proportion, marketing-wise,” Youngstown Coordinator of Downtown Events Michael McGiffin said.

The city hopes to build on last weekend’s successful Burgers, Beards and Brews festival. McGiffin said it brought in 2,000 more people than they expected.

The Summer Event series includes 20 events:
