Car hits pole, flips in North Jackson

JACKSON TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – State and local police are investigating a crash that involved a car hitting a utility pole and flipping over on its roof Friday afternoon on Mahoning Ave. in Jackson Township.

Police have shut down Mahoning Ave.’s east- and westbound lanes at S. Lipkey Rd. Friday afternoon.

Police said that an SUV ran off the road, hitting a mailbox and then the pole before flipping. Paramedics took the driver to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

It appears that there are crews working on power lines along the road.
