Coroner identifies man killed after tree hit mobile home

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (AP) – Authorities in western Pennsylvania have released the name of a man killed after a tree smashed into his mobile home during a storm.

The Butler County coroner’s office said 31-year-old Timothy Klaes of Slippery Rock died of head injuries after strong winds or lightning toppled the tree onto the trailer at about 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Fire chief Ken Taggart said Klaes was in a hallway and was pinned by the tree. He said the victim was “in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

There were widespread reports of trees toppled by the storm. In eastern Pennsylvania, strong winds also brought down trees and tipped over more than a dozen trailers in a Bethlehem Township warehouse parking lot.
