Severe thunderstorms strike the valley

Flooding in the valley Sunday evening.

BAZETTA, Ohio (WKBN) — Severe thunderstorms pummeled the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys, Sunday night.

John Schuster of Bazetta says he has three subpumps taking water out of his newly-finished basement.

His yard looks more like a swimming pool.

“It’s like a river. a non-stop river. I’m afraid now, since it’s supposed to rain again, it’s going to get deeper and worse,” said John Schuster, of Bazetta.

Also in Trumbull County, heavy rain pelted windshields along Bailey Road.

Other parts of the county also saw heavy rain.

Same story in Mahoning County–from Canfield to Springfield Township.

The threat for more severe storms isn’t going away—the valley could see a repeat to start the week.
