Dosch beginning to make his mark in Bowie

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Drew Dosch, former YSU third baseman, recently was called up from Frederick of the Carolina League to play in Bowie for the Baysox.

After a hitless streak of his first 12 at bats with the new club, Dosch has belted 4 hits in his last 8 at bats with 4 RBIs and 2 walks. The Canal Winchester product hit .338 as a junior for the Penguins as he led the Horizon League in on-base percentage (.434).

Bowie, the Orioles’ Double-A affiliate, is currently in second place in the Eastern League’s Western Division trailing Altoona (Pirates’ affiliate). The Baysox are managed by Gary Kendall (who’s serving his 5th year in the role). Bowie’s roster includes one of the team’s top prospects right hander Dylan Bundy and Miguel Gonzalez, who’s on a rehab assignment from the parent club.

In 2013, Dosch was taken in the 7th round by Baltimore.
