PNC donates to early childhood programs

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – PNC Bank is supporting early childhood education programs in Youngstown.

The bank donated $55,000 to eight pre-kindergarten organizations on Tuesday. Students at the Mill Creek Children’s Center will be among those to benefit from the money.

The students showed how the gift helped them learn about animals during a field trip. The kids drew pictures and told stories about the trip.

“Through our PNC Grow Up Great program, we can touch a lot of lives here within the community. Today, we are working with eight great business partners that really deliver the services to enhance the lives of these children,” Ted Schmidt from PNC Bank said.

The United Way, the YWCA and the Oh Wow! Children’s Museum also received grants. PNC has set aside $350 million in grants for early childhood programs.
