Vienna to place police and fire levies on November ballot

VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – Vienna Township will ask voters this November to support levies for the police and fire departments.

According to the Tribune Chronicle, trustees at a special meeting Tuesday gave final reading to place the issues on the November general election ballot.

Trustee Chairwoman Heidi Brown said the 1.5-mill, five-year additional levy for the police department would generate $132,000 annually and the 1-mill, five-year renewal levy for fire and emergency services would generate about $80,000 annually.

Brown said both levies would be used for day-to-day operations of the departments.

There is no increase in taxes with the renewal fire levy.
