ODNR to target drunk boaters

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is working with other state and federal agencies, to keep the water safe from drunk boaters.

ODNR kicks off its annual Operation Dry Water Friday.

The anti-drinking-while-boating campaign puts more officers on the water, targeting boaters that might be drunk or on drugs, adding checkpoints, and teaching folks about boating safety.

So if you’re going to be out on the lake anytime this weekend, expect to see extra patrols through Sunday night.
