McDonald hosting annual firefighter festival

McDonald Firefighters Festival

MCDONALD, Ohio (WKBN) – Firefighters in McDonald are gearing up for the 82nd Annual Firefighter Homecoming Festival this week.

It kicks off Wednesday night and runs through Saturday, finishing off with a fireworks display. There will be fun for everyone of all ages, including games and rides for the kids and bingo.

Proceeds from the fair benefit the fire department’s social organization, which helps them give back to the village.

“And that is the entire reason for a social organization. That is what we do all year is just give back to the community, whether it be a needy family, or scholarships, anything of that sort,” McDonald Fire Capt. Jim Petruzzi said.

The festival will go on rain or shine at Woodland Park.
