Ohio players honor teammate killed in tragic accident

Players mourn the loss of Southern Local graduate Marcus Walter

BEAVER FALLS, PA (WKBN) – Marcus Walter, who just graduated from Southern Local High School, was supposed to play in the Stateline football game at Geneva College Friday night.

Players from both teams gathered in the middle of the field for a moment of silence for Marcus.

When the captains for the Ohio Team went to mid-field for the coin toss, they carried out the jersey with the number 46 that Marcus was supposed to wear.

A sign was also hung up to remember him, while some fans wore t-shirts with his number.

Pennsylvania went on to top Ohio 34-20 in the game.
