Woman draws sword on man inside Cortland home

CORTLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – A woman was arrested inside a Cortland home Sunday night after she threatened a man inside the house with a sword.

According to Cortland police, officers were called about 11:52 p.m. to the home on Maple Drive on a domestic violence call. When they arrived, police say they discovered Monica Anstadt, 54, who police say was “highly intoxicated” had obtained a sword and tried to break down a bathroom door where a man identified as David Anstadt, had locked himself inside.

One person in the home was taken to the hospital by ambulance for an unrelated injury, and Monica Anstadt was arrested without incident and charged with domestic violence.

There were no serious injuries in the incident.
