Girl with donated liver improving

A girl from Trumbull County Ohio needs a new liver.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Jamie, a 4-year-old girl in the custody of Trumbull County Children Services, is improving after having liver transplant surgery a month ago.

Trumbull County Children Services Executive Director Tim Schaffner said her feeding tube is out and she is now talking. He also said she was given an eight-hour pass to visit with her foster family at the Ronald McDonald House outside the Pittsburgh hospital where she has been since January.

She still has a long road to recovery with at least a few more weeks in the hospital, and then an extended stay at the Ronald McDonald House nearby in case any medical needs arise.
