Proceeds washed out for Slide the City

Slide the City will set up a slip and slide in Youngstown, Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) –  Mother Nature crushed the expected proceeds of the Slide the City event scheduled last weekend.

The event was to benefit the Rich Center for Autism and was expected to garner about $7,500 in pre-ticket sales.

“When they refunded the money, obviously, we lost those proceeds. We also were to be paid out per hour for each volunteer that we had coordinated, and that was over 70 people working over a 12-hour day,” said Bergen Giordani, director of development, Rich Center for Autism.

The center is hoping to make up for the money they lost with an option for people to donate on their website.
