Suspects rob elderly man, stab dog

ALLIANCE, Ohio (WKBN) – Alliance police arrested two robbery suspects after a short chase that ended in a crash.

According to police, the suspects kicked in the door of a home on Franklin Avenue Wednesday morning and threatened a 71-year-old man and female at gunpoint.

The suspects allegedly demanded money and prescription pills from the victim and stabbed his small dog when he didn’t comply.

The suspects loaded up a TV, entertainment center, pills and cash and fled the in the victim’s truck.

An Alliance police officer spotted the vehicle and initiated a pursuit that ended in the truck crashing into a utility pole on Route 619, near N. Rockhill Avenue.

The driver took off from the crash but was apprehended by officers who chased him on foot.

The second suspect was arrested in the vehicle where police found a loaded .40 caliber handgun.

Joseph Avilucea and Kameren Naugle, aggrevated burglary suspectsJoseph Avilucea, 18, of Alliance and Kameren Naugle, 19, of Akron are being held on $250,000 bond.

Both suspects were charged with several felonies, including aggravated burglary.

The Smith Township Police Department assisted in the case.

The dog is being treated by the local Humane Society.
