Sharon fire department investigating house fire cause

SHARON, Pa (WKBN) – Fire investigators in Sharon are investigating whether fireworks caused a house to catch fire on Saturday.

The house is located on State Line Road near Erie Street on the Ohio-Pennsylvania border.

Neighbors said kids were running through the neighborhood setting off bottle rockets and one got inside the house and started a fire.

No one was inside the house at the time. The house had been vacant since another fire that happened June 5.

“You can hear firecrackers still going off all around the block. Typical fourth of July. But once again, definitely the dangers of lighting off small fireworks if you’re not careful and don’t pay attention to what can happen,” said neighbor Jerry Parkany.

Sharon’s fire captain said the house was completely in flames when fire crews arrived.

The Pennsylvania fire marshalls will investigate Monday to determine what caused the fire.
