WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Warren Police are looking to file charges against a man who they say tried to hide crack cocaine in his mouth during a traffic stop Tuesday, according to a police report.
Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Warren officers were out patrolling when they noticed car leaving a house on Scott Street that has been the site of drug arrests in the past, according to the report.
The report states that officers pulled the car over when the driver failed to use a turn signal. Police said that upon approaching the car, they noticed him chewing on an unidentified object.
When police asked him to open his mouth, he noticed a white piece of paper on his tongue and asked him to spit it into his hands. When officers asked him what was inside the paper, the man responded “crack.” The man told police that, “he didn’t know what to do with it so he put it in his mouth.” according to the report.
Police took the man to the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office. Charges for both tampering with evidence and possession of drugs are pending, according to the report.
