Warren police: Boy helped untie grandfather after home invasion

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Warren police are investigating a home invasion Thursday night that was witnessed by the victim’s young grandson, who he was watching.

Three men went to a home in the 1100 block of McMyler Street N.W., tied up the resident and held him at gunpoint, demanding drugs and money, according to police.

The victim told police he lives with his nephew, who owns the house, but his nephew hardly ever stays there.

The victim told investigators the suspects tied him up in the basement using a phone cord they pulled out of the wall, a police report states. The men allowed the young boy to go in the basement with his grandfather.

After it appeared they had left the home, the young boy helped untie his grandfather. Police are still looking for the suspects.
