Steven Direnzo, arrest for child endangering in Boardman

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman Police arrested a man Monday evening after they say he crashed into a police car and fled on foot, leaving his four-year-old-grandson in the car, according to a police report.

Police charged Steven Direnzo, 43, with fleeing from police and child endangering, according to jail records.

According to a police report, a U.S. Marshals Service officer attempted to pull Direnzo over Monday evening in regards to a warrant for his arrest on a charge of burglary and a parole violation. The report states that Direnzo then drove off, nearly striking several police cars, and eventually crashing in a nearby yard.

Direnzo then exited the vehicle and fled on foot, leaving his four-year-old grandson in the car, according to the report. Police eventually tracked down and arrested Direnzo, and another woman took the grandson home.
