10 nabbed in Austintown prostitution sting

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Ten people are facing charges in connection to a series of prostitution arrests Wednesday night at a local hotel.

Jill Del Greco from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office said the arrests were the result of an undercover operation in which BCI agents and local police officers went online and responded to ads on websites offering sexual services. The officers arranged a place to meet the suspects and if they solicited the officers, they were arrested.

Del Greco said she could not reveal the name of the hotel because it is part of an ongoing investigation.

She said the suspects were questioned prior to their arrest to determine if they were being forced into prostitution or were willing participants. Del Greco said the only connection between the suspects was the location where the undercover meetings took place.

Also arrested at the same hotel on Wednesday night was Charles Jaminet, 31, who police said arranged a meeting with a female who he thought was under age, according to Attorney General Mike DeWine’s office. He was arrested on a charge of importuning, police said. He posted bond and was released from the Mahoning County Jail on Thursday, jail records show.

Investigators took Jaminet into custody when he arrived at the unnamed hotel after arranging to meet who he believed was an underage female to engage in sexual activity, according to DeWine’s office.

The others arrested included:

  • Constance Adams, 25, soliciting prostitution. She was released from the Mahoning County Jail on her own recognizance.
  • Traci Barber, 30, soliciting. She remains at the Mahoning County Jail, according to jail records.
  • Latoya Blackmon, 29, soliciting prostitution. She was released from the Mahoning County Jail on her own recognizance.
  • Aaron Clark, 27, promoting prostitution. He was released from the Mahoning County Jail on bond.
  • Tara Elkins, 29, soliciting prostitution. She was released from the Mahoning County Jail on her own recognizance.
  • Charles Jaminet, 31, importuning. He was released from the Mahoning County Jail on Thursday after posting bond.
  • Christopher Martin, age unavailable, child endangering.

  • Valerie Stewart, 29, soliciting prostitution. She was released from the Mahoning County Jail on her own recognizance.
  • Ashley Stiles, 24, soliciting. She remains at the Mahoning County Jail, according to jail records.

Del Greco said the suspects were arrested individually at various times throughout Wednesday evening. She said all of them were alone, except Clark, who had a girl with him.
