YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – It’s been decades since a steam locomotive pulled a passenger train into Youngstown, but the Fort Wayne Indiana Railroad Historical Society is offering that opportunity next weekend.

A 19-car train will pull out of the Covelli Centre on Saturday and Sunday mornings, enroute to Ashtabula on the Norfolk and Southern railroad tracks just east of Route 11. Those tracks still carry freight traffic today.

Trains leave at 9am and return at 5pm each day; lunch will be served in Ashtabula.

Many tickets have already been scooped up by railroad enthusiasts, but they were still available at last check. You can get tickets online or more information by calling 1-888-718-4253
