TX man pleads guilty in 2013 Warren shooting

man sentenced in connection with warren, ohio shooting

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The murder trial of TaShawn Walker was set to begin Monday in Trumbull County Court, but a plea deal was reached instead.

Police accused Walker in the October 2013 shooting death of Richard Rollison outside a Warren gas station. Walker pleaded guilty Monday morning to a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter.

A judge sentenced Walker to 17 years in prison with credit for time served.

TaShawn’s brother, Taemar, was shot and killed by a Warren police officer just weeks before Rollison’s death.

Walker was in town from his home state of Texas for his brother’s funeral when police say he shot Rollison outside of the Sunoco gas station on the city’s west side.

The shooting followed a rash of violence in the city after Taemarr’s Walker’s death.
