AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police arrested an Austintown man Sunday evening, charging that he assaulted two women, according to a police report.

Austintown Police charged William Murphy, 28, with two counts of felonious assault, according to Mahoning County Jail records.

According to the report, police arrived at a home on Burkey Rd. in Austintown and found Murphy there, along with two women who claimed that he tried to choke them, swung at them and missed with a baseball bat and tried to hit them with his car, all after getting drunk.

Police reported that Murphy became violent and difficult to restrain during the arrest process and took him to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital before booking him into the Mahoning County Jail.

Murphy did not immediately respond to a message left at a phone number listed for him on the police report.
