Portion of Raccoon Road closed at Route 224 in Canfield

A portion of Raccoon Rd. in Canfield is closed for road construction.

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – A portion of Raccoon Road in Canfield is closed beginning Monday for a construction project.

The portion of road, just north of Route 224 to Route 62 will be closed for about two weeks as crews installed left and right turning lanes at the intersection of the Route 224 and Raccoon Road.

The work is part of a $6.5 million project on Route 224, near Route 11.

According to the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, about 9,000 vehicles travel the stretch of road daily.

The road should re-open before the start of the Canfield Fair.

The entire project at Route 224 and Route 11 should be complete by October.
