Coroner: Man killed wife, then himself in Pennsylvania home

YORK, Pa. (AP) – Authorities in central Pennsylvania’s York County say a man shot and killed his wife before turning the weapon on himself in the county’s fourth murder-suicide this year.

The county coroner’s office concluded last week that that 50-year-old Brian Wilk killed 61-year-old Donna Wilk and then himself in their Springettsbury Township home.

Police said they were called to the home at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday after the woman didn’t show up for work.

Coroner Pam Gay said the shootings might have occurred between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

She said she doesn’t think domestic violence is increasing, but “it’s become more lethal” in recent years.

The county’s three other murder-suicides this year include the April deaths of two men and woman in the Quality Inn in the township.
