McDonald mayor makes run for state rep official

Mayor Glenn Holmes

MCDONALD, Ohio (WKBN) – McDonald mayor Glenn Holmes is officially running for State Representative.

He made the announcement on Thursday, surrounded by supporters from Trumbull County. He has been mayor since 2008 and was a village councilman before that.

He said the relationships he has built during his time of public service, and the support he has received, have been very encouraging when it comes to this race.

“We have built relationships over the years. We have worked on a number of different issues successfully. And that encouragement has given me a stronger resolve to continue serving,” Holmes said.

He will run for the seat currently held by Democrat Sean O’Brien, who plans to run for the state senate when Capri Cafaro leaves. Cafaro can’t run again because of term limits.
