YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A new video board and scoreboard is being installed at the north end of Youngstown State University’s Stambaugh Stadium.
There also is a new scoreboard at the south end of the football field. The university’s contract with Pepsi helped pay for the $350,000 project.
YSU officials hired several local companies to do the work. Sports Information Director Trevor Parks said the video screen itself is quite the improvement.
“When people see what we had before, it was just a nine-panel little square. They actually replaced it with 42 new panels. So, almost four times the size. The god thing is, it should be done by the end of the week. So we’ve got a few weeks to work out some kinks and get some production items up on the board and see how it looks,” Parks said.
The YSU Penguin Club paid for new LED lights to be installed at the stadium, too.
