Buddy Walk of the Valley

BOARDMAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Nearly 1,500 people are walking for a good cause Saturday. It’s the annual Buddy Walk, starting at the Shops at Boardman Park.

The Down Syndrome Association of the Valley is again sponsoring the walk, hoping to raise awareness and funding. The association’s website indicates it has already surpassed its $75,000 fundraising goal.

One of the walkers Is Elisa Procopio. Her parents didn’t know she had Down Syndrome until after she was born. Elisa’s Buddy Walk team has the number four spot among top ten Buddy Walk teams.

The walk starts Saturday morning at 10:30.
