Dozens evacuated on Dollywood’s Wild Eagle

PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee (WATE) – Dozens of riders were stuck on Dollywood’s Wild Eagle roller coaster Sunday afternoon.

Each person had to be evacuated from one of the steepest parts of the track.

Dollywood said a safety switch was triggered, telling the computer something was on the track. The ride stopped, and one of the passengers asked to get off the coaster.

They also said it’s their protocol to evacuate everyone when one rider asks to be taken off. Again, there were no mechanical issues, but it take time to complete the evacuation.

The park said they sent the coaster through a cycle without any passengers to reset everything before letting people back on the ride.
