Candidate for Campbell mayor accused of assault

CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) – He wants to be mayor of Campbell. But now he’s accused of assaulting his wife’s daughter’s boyfriend.

But Nick Phillips says he tried to intervene in a dispute inside his Sycamore Drive home. In the altercation between the wife, daughter and boyfriend, Philips says the man shoved his wife and knocked her to the ground. The boyfriend filed a police report claiming he was assaulted by Phillips, breaking his jaw.

Phillips is running in the November election.
