YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – They’re smart, and there are more of them. When YSU fall semester classes begin on August 19th, classes will include some of the most talented students they’ve seen.
YSU President Jim Tressel tells WKBN that this fall’s class of new freshmen students boasts the highest average A.C.T. scores and high school grade-point-averages in recent history. This follows the university’s largest graduating class in more than forty years.
Many new students are already in town, eager to start. Tressel says faculty and administrators are doing what they can to attract quality students who are there to get their degrees, not just take classes.
