Pope, Dalai Lama to visit Philly in September, October

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – You can see the Dalai Lama when he makes a two-day trip to Philadelphia to receive the Liberty Medal in October.

The high priest of Tibetan Buddhism will receive the award on Oct. 26 at the National Constitution Center. Tickets for that event go on sale next month, according to KYW-TV.

But tickets to two other appearances go on sale Wednesday.

The Dalai Lama will give a speech Oct. 26 on the topic, “Eight Verses for Training the Mind.” On Oct. 27, he’ll speak on the topic “Finding Happiness in Troubled Times: Educating the Heart in the 21st Century”.

Tickets can be purchased online at DalaiLamaPhilly.org.

Pope Francis is scheduled to visit Philadelphia Sept. 26-27 for the World Meeting of Families, a Catholic conference designed to bring families closer together.
