YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown fire crews spent another evening fighting vacant house fires. Or at least making sure that adjacent homes were not affected.

One of the Tuesday fires was in the 300 block of Hilton on the south side. WKBN was told a family had just moved out of that house on Monday.

No sooner had firefighters collected their gear than they were off to another blaze on Hillman near Florida.

“Too far apart to say that they’re related. But that’s Youngstown”, says YFD Battalion Chief Ron Russo. “We could go anywhere anytime, and this is what we deal with.”

Because of the heat and humidity of the day, firefighters from the north side were called in to help the south side crews.
