YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Fire brightened the night sky on the east side early Friday morning as two vacant houses in the 300 block of Albert Street burned to the ground.

The Youngstown Fire Department got the call around 1 a.m. When firefighters got to the scene, both houses were in flames. They worked to keep the fire from spreading to the adjacent Town and County Car Wash. There were vehicles inside that building.

Firefighters say the suspicious fire started in one house and moved to the one next door. They say there was a smaller fire at one of the houses on Monday.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
