YPD placing speed-reading signs in school zones

speed limit signs youngstown ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Going back to school means drivers have to remember to slow down and pay more attention in school zones.

The Youngstown Police Department recently bought new mobile speed signs to help do that.

WKBN spotted one sign Friday, near Kirkmere Elementary School, mounted to a crosswalk sign.

The camera can be moved around the city as needed to draw attention to your speed.

It can also report the average speed of traffic and send that data to the police department.
