NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Students at the Springfield Local Elementary School got to check out their brand new building on Saturday. Parents were there too for a ribbon cutting, presentation and tours of the New Middletown facility.

The new school on Route 170 is now on the campus of the district’s other buildings. The old building on Main Street was 92 years old.

The school has brand new state-of-the-art technology and upgraded security. The building principal says the new facility was much needed.

The first day of classes in the Springfield Local Schools is Sept. 9.
